Two Iranian naval ship finally docked in Port Lazeqiyya, Syria, after going through the Suez Canal and Mediterranean Sea. Israel fears that the ship was to spread the threat as it passes through the Suez Canal was not proven, according to Iranian military officials.
According to Iranian state news agency, IRNA, two naval ships, which consists of frigates Kharq Alvand and logistics supplier to
the port Lazeqiyya, Syria, on Thursday, February 24, 2011. Two ships will join the exercise escort and protection of cargo and tanker ships from pirates during the year.The official Iranian navy, Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, said that Iran was still on his mission sailed the Mediterranean Sea toward Syria despite getting criticism from Israel. Sayyari said that Israel fears are groundless and not proven.
"The Zionist regime to create their own concerns and look at this problem from only one side, but we will still run this mission regardless of the regime and to work closely with friendly countries in the region," Sayyari said.
Sayyari stressed that their visit to Syria is to exercise ordinary naval been bringing his message of peace and friendship to regional countries. Sayyari also reject the joint war exercises with Syria on the visit.
"Naval ship visits to ports Lazeqiyya for peaceful purposes," Sayyari added.
Earlier, Iran's steps through the Suez Canal to Israeli government condemned. They accuse Iran of doing acts of provocation. Israel and the U.S. military reportedly continued to monitor and track the presence of two Iranian warships and full alert over the possibilities that will happen.
Permission crossed the Suez Canal is given to Iran by the Ministry of Defence of Egypt. This is the first time Iranian warship crossed the Suez Canal since the Iranian Islamic Revolution of 1979. According to Fars news agency, Alvand ship weighing 1,500 tons armed by torpedoes and anti-warship missiles, while the ship weighing 33,000 tons Kharq have a crew of 250 people and brought along three helicopters.
The Israeli government said it will not take any action at this time. But they vowed to act decisively if Iran is perceived to provoke a breach of international law.
