National Team Agency (BTN) PSSI will hold a selection in three waves to determine the Pre-Olympic squad in 2012 and the SEA Games in 2011. The selection process will begin tomorrow, Friday, January 7, 2011.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Technical Division of BTN, Faith Arif, course selection will be divided into two
sessions. The first session was to solicit the players who will strengthen the Red and White teams in the Pre Olympics 2011.This session will be held in two waves. The first wave, followed by 25 players will run 7 to 9 January 2011. While the second wave, followed by 27 players held 11 to 13 January 2011.
A total of 26 players are also called to follow the selection of 15 to 17 January 2010. These players are candidates for a player who is projected to perform at the SEA Games in 2011.
"The final decision for the players who will perform at the Pre 2012 Olympic Games will be set on January 17, 2011. While the players for SEA Games 2011 will be determined mid-March 2011," Faith said in a press conference that was held in the office of PSSI, Jakarta, Thursday, January 7, 2011 .
On the same occasion, Faith also admitted to still enter namama five players who appeared in the AFF Cup 2010. However, all five players need not attend the selection session like other players.
They are Irfan Bachdim, Yong Aribowo, Johan Juansyah, Kurnia Meiga, and Oktovianus Maniani. "They do not need to attend to follow the selection. They've chosen to follow the TC directly," said Faith.
Meanwhile, the first and second wave selection, coach Alfred Riedl will encompass 25-26 names. However, ten of which will be projected to strengthen the team SEA Games in 2011.
"So who perform at the Pre Olympics there will be approximately 18-20 players. As for the SEA Games in 2011 will have as many as 15-16 additional selection of players from the third wave," beber Faith.
Indonesia will begin their work in the Pre 2012 Olympic Games against Turkmenistan. The first match will be held in Indonesia, 23 February 2011, while the second leg will be held in the cage opposite, March 9, 2011.
